Cheshire artist Craig Mayer lives and works in Congleton. Born in the Staffordshire Moorland’s in 1962 he grew up with a keen interest in art. From an early age his attention to detail was evident. After leaving school in 1978, he began a course in Photography and Graphic design at the North Staffs Polytechnic lasting 4 years. It was some years later having moved to
Cheshire when he started to paint comme
rcially inspired by beautiful countryside and a wealth of subject matter including villages and places of historic interest. Whilst the majority of his work features scenes of Cheshire, he visits Staffordshire and in particular the Moorlands whenever possible. Over the years he has assembled an extensive range of work, including calendars, note cards and prints. His work can be found in a variety of galleries and National Trust properties in and around Cheshire.
